1. Different raw materials
The main material of
PPR pipe is copolymerized polypropylene, so PPR pipe is also called three-type polypropylene pipe, while PVC is made of polyvinyl chloride material. The two kinds of pipes have different performance characteristics due to different main raw materials. It is also because of the raw materials that PPR pipes are mostly hot-melted during installation, and PVC pipes are mostly glued.
2. Different wall thickness
The wall thickness of the PPR tube is divided into four-point tube, six-point tube, etc., the wall thickness of the four-point tube is 2.3mm, and the wall thickness of the six-point tube is 3.5mm. The PVC pipe is calculated with a diameter of 6mm and a wall thickness of 2.0mm, and a nominal diameter of 8-10mm with a wall thickness of 2.5mm.
3. Different uses
PPR pipes are used as water pipes, divided into cold water pipes and hot water pipes. PVC pipes are suitable for wires passing through walls and sewage pipes.
Which is better,
PPR pipe or PVC pipe?
PPR pipe is better. However, the scope of application is different, and the characteristics are different. If it is only used for waterway transformation of cold water pipes, etc., then in terms of quality, PPR pipes must be better. But there is one thing that everyone should pay attention to. There are many PPR tubes that say: No surface installation. The non-exposed installation here means that it is installed outdoors under sunlight. If the PPR pipe is installed outdoors, it must be replaced every two years, otherwise bacteria will breed and the service life will be greatly shortened. It is not as good as PVC.
